Indira Siri Lakshmi began to explore the practice of yoga in 1996, with Hatha Yoga, ViniYoga, and Iyengar. Her first Kundalini Yoga class was a deeply transformative experience in 2005. She found Kundalini Yoga to be most natural self-expression as an art form to realign the body and mind.
In Kundalini Yoga, the Chakras (etheric wheels) are understood to be the internal energy centres; our internal compasses, our internal radar on which we gauge our spiritual health. In a regular practice the Chakras communicate with each other to promote physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. During the practice of Kundalini Yoga, the postures engage the seven chakras, the meridian lines and accupressure points from your feet to the crown of the head.
What are they? Is there a science behind them? How could a Kundalini practice benefit you?
